Application

System for the water supply of sanitary systems, heating and cooling systems compliant with EN ISO 15874. Also, with the PP-R system it is possible to create air conditioning, irrigation, geothermal and compressed air systems. The POLO-POLYMUTAN system is suitable for plumbing and heating distribution networks in residential, industrial (for the transport of fluid in the agricultural, chemical and pharmaceutical sectors) and commercial, public and receptive buildings such as hospitals, retirement homes and nursing homes, hotels, schools, places of worship.

Design instructions

For the design, installation and testing of cold and hot water supply systems, follow the requirements of UNI 9182: 2014. For the correct design of a plumbing and heating distribution network with the use of the polypropylene random system POLO-POLYMUTAN, knowing the available flow rate and the length to be covered, it is good to consider the following factors:

  • Loss of pressure in the pipes
  • Pressure drops of the fittings
  • Variations in piping length
  • Any coating thickness of the pipe

Installation method

Quick system to be installed by means of a joint with heat sealing to be carried out with special equipment, at the temperatures and with the times indicated in the technical instructions for use. The fittings can be provided with a brass insert directly incorporated in the hot forging phase.

Special conditions

PP-R pipes can be insulated by a professional installer with external insulation for all those uses where it is necessary to minimize winter and summer heat loss. In heating, plumbing and sanitary systems and for the transport of chilled water, to avoid condensation phenomena it is necessary to consult the thermo-technical designer for the calculation of suitable insulation thicknesses based on the laying and operating conditions specifically provided for.

What is the meaning of the SDR abbreviation with which the PP-R pipe is classified? SDR (Standard Dimension Ratio) identifies the “standard dimensional ratio” that is a method for evaluating the durability of a pipe with respect to pressure. The standard size ratio describes the correlation between pipe size and pipe wall thickness.
