BLUSILENT

BLUSILENT

Since 1995 the first soundproof drainage system in coextruded 3-layer polypropylene (PP) blue color RAL 5014. The widest range available with diameters from 32 to 250 mm is composed of pipes and fittings reinforced with mineral fillers (MV) which give the system excellent acoustic insulation qualities, resistance to impact, corrosion, abrasion and aggression of chemical substances dissolved in civil and industrial waste.

Application scope

Wastewater drainage system compliant with EN 1451-1 in Class BD (internal and external, as well as underground, with SN4 crush resistance valid for diameters of 75, 90, 110, 125, and 160 mm) suitable for installations in buildings requiring acoustic insulation compliance for residential, industrial, and commercial purposes, as well as public and hospitality facilities such as hospitals, retirement homes and nursing homes, hotels, schools, and places of worship. The BLUSILENT system is also a valid option for air distribution in VMC (Controlled Mechanical Ventilation) systems, ventilation and extraction systems, as well as for dust removal in centralized extraction systems.

SIMPLICITY

The special “wings” positioned every 60° on the edge of the BLUSILENT fittings’ sockets speed up installation by indicating precise rotation. The ease with which the fittings can be aligned is one of BLUSILENT’s advantages.

SAFETY

The shape of the BLUSILENT fittings’ socket makes them safer to hold. At the same time, the contoured lines around the fitting prevent sound transmission into living spaces.

SEALING

During installation on site, it is important that pipes and fittings are inserted to the required depth. Therefore, all BLUSILENT fittings feature a clearly visible and tactile line that facilitates insertion.

RESISTANCE

BLUSILENT, thanks to its unique composition of polypropylene and mineral fillers, can be buried (SN4) and applied to the exterior of buildings (Class “BD” in accordance with EN 1451-1).

QUALITY

The 3-layer pipes of the BLUSILENT soundproof exhaust system are made of PP-C/MV/PP-C, a special blend that provides the product with sound-absorbing properties and mechanical resistance.

Water drain with high soundproofing performance

In Italy, the noise generated by the use of sanitary facilities is often the cause of complaints, disputes, and legal disputes. It is certainly a very delicate issue to address. Meeting the acoustic requirements imposed by law by the Prime Ministerial Decree of December 5, 1997, and ensuring an appreciable level of living comfort is no small feat when designing and installing a drainage system within a building. For this reason, BLUSILENT, thanks to the unique layered composition of its pipes and the special features of its fittings, presents itself as an optimal solution for achieving excellent soundproofing results. Download the BLUSILENT technical brochure to view the sound levels tested in the laboratory in accordance with technical standards DIN 4109 and EN 14366.

Design Instructions

The BLUSILENT water drainage system can be sized according to the requirements of the reference design standard, UNI 12056-2:2001. According to these requirements, BLUSILENT system pipes and fittings or, alternatively, BAMVENT ventilation valves can be used to create drainage system ventilation. In compliance with the Prime Ministerial Decree of 5/12/1997 on passive acoustic requirements within buildings (current law in Italy), the BLUSILENT water drainage system offers excellent soundproofing performance certified in accordance with DIN 4109 and EN 14366 standards by the Fraunhofer Institute in Stuttgart.

Installation method

Robust and easy to install thanks to the push-fit joint, secured by an elastomeric gasket. The socket connection ensures adequate space for any system expansion, providing a reliable, long-lasting seal. The BLUSILENT polypropylene system is compatible with other PP/PE-HD/PVC plastics in standard diameters.

Accessories for installation

A series of accessories useful for the construction of drainage systems are associated with the POLO-KAL NG polypropylene system, including:

  • Valves for drainage ventilation
  • Non-return valves
  • Fire protection systems (sleeves – bands – bags)
  • Single-layer isolating sheaths
  • Triple-layer soundproofing sheets
  • Pipe fixing and anchoring collars
  • Non-slip sealing collars
Special conditions for installation

The special composition of the BLUSILENT system ensures absolute robustness, especially in freezing cold environments, with impact resistance (laboratory tested) down to temperatures of -20°C. Furthermore, in the event of an accidental impact or puncture, the system can be quickly repaired by heat welding performed by expert hands with special equipment. BLUSILENT is suitable for transporting dust in centralized vacuum systems.
